Bandwidth is how much data can flow at once.  Speed is how fast that data is moving.  Think of the bandwidth as the number of lanes on the highway and speed as how fast the cars on the highway are moving.  A wider highway can handle more cars at the same time, but even on a wide highway, cars might get stuck in traffic if the cars in front of them are going slow.
