SECV Q&A

Can I use both answering machine and voicemail?

Service Electric's Digital Phone service comes with voicemail or call answering. A call is answered by call answering when you do not answer your phone after 4 rings or when you are already on the phone and ignore a call waiting. The caller will get your voicemail. The default ring count is 4 which can be changed if you prefer to use an answering machine with voicemail. If you prefer to use an answering machine with our voicemail service we suggest you set your answering machine ring count to be less than the voicemail. This way all your calls will get routed to your answering machine if you don’t answer your phone. For example, set your answering machine ring count to 3 rings then our voicemail will pick up after 4 rings or leave your answering machine set to 4 (default ring on most answering machine) then let us change your voicemail ring count to 6 or 8. Ring count change lets you select the number of times you want the line to ring. It’s your choice.
